Born with a hammer in hand, Ian Stafford has always been surrounded by builders and makers. In the beginning, he worked closely with his father learning the art of woodworking and construction and was inspired by his mother a weaver, candle maker, and teacher. Continuing with a hands on approach, he graduated from Tyler School of Art with a concentration in glass blowing and sculpture. Combining hands on training and education in the arts he found a career as a woodworker. Finding inspiration through nature and architecture, he works with various materials to create one of a kind objects that are equal parts form and function.
